Biography Sister Albertine
A girls' school teacher in Terra Haute, Indiana from 1870 to 1878 and a teacher from 1883 to 1887 at St. John's Academy in Indianapolis, Sister Mary Albertine was a Catholic nun and a landscape and figure painter.
She studied at the Art Institute of Chicago, Cincinnati Art Association with Albert Bierstadt, Thomas Eakins and William Merritt Chase; and at the Royal Academy in Munich, Germany.
