Born in San Francisco, CA in 1884. Alice Sussman studied at the Mark Hopkins Art Institute in the 1890s. After graduating from Bryn Mawr College, she married Walter Arnstein in 1906. A lifelong resident of San Francisco, she died there on Aug. 4, 1951. Working in oil and watercolor, she produced portraits, still lifes, and scenes of San Francisco.
