Born in San Francisco in 1862. Fortier studied at the local School of Design under Virgil Williams. By the 1880s she was a highly accomplished painter of floral still lifes, landscapes, and charcoal figure studies. She died of tuberculosis in her native city at age 24. Exh: Mechanics' Inst (SF), 1884-85.
