Biography   Jessie Bayes


Active in England during the Arts and Crafts movement of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Jessie Bayes exhibited at the Royal Academy of London and ran a workshop overseeing craftwork and decorative schemes for interiors and houses.  Known for woodcarving, painting, calligraphy, interior design, gesso and gilding, she was a sister of Gilbert and Walter Bayes, prominent artists of that era.
