Andre Bouquet (1897-1987)
Born in La Varenne-Saint-Hilaire at the end of the 19th century (September 19, 1897). He lived in a small apartment in Villeneuve Saint-Georges, a small city in the suburbs of Paris, since 1933 (where he ended his life in 1987), lying in the Marne Valley area, and there is a cultural building devoted to his work, "The Space Andre Bouquet." His naive paintings have been shown widely, at the Grand Palais and at the "Salon des Independants," and reside in the collections of several Naive Art Museums.
