Alois Broch (* Nov. 27th in Vienna, Austria, 1864, + Okt. 21st 1937 in Berlin, Germany) spent his childhood in Budapest, Hungry.
From 1883, he studied Art at the "Akademie der Bildenden Künste München" (University of Art, Munich)
Most of his lifetime he lived and worked in Berlin, Germany.
Many journeys through Europe, especially UK and Russia, allowed him to work for foreign employers.
He must be seen as an Academic Painter of the late 19th century whose work includes oil portraits as well as impressions of street scenes. His style is comparable to the English Masters such as Thomas Gainsborough or Sir Joshua Reynolds as well as the German "Biedermeier" painters.
