Biography Georg Buchner
Georg Buchner studied at the Munich Academy under Gyula Benczur, Wilhelm von Lindenschmit and Franz Defregger. He initially worked as a draftsman and created illustrations for the magazine 'Fliegende Blätter'. From 1890 onwards he exhibited his paintings at the Munich Glaspalast and the following year at the International Art Exhibition in Berlin. In 1893 he joined the Munich Secession. Buchner painted mainly portraits and small-scale genre paintings as well as some religious themes. (tfa)
