Achille Carelli, 19th century* (active circa 1852 to 1873).
Son of Raffaele (1795-1854), brother of Gonsalvo (1818-1900) and Gabriel(1820-1880), and the lesser-known member of the Carelli family of painters. His active period as a painter can be traced to about 1852, somewhat later than his brothers who exhibited in the 1830s and 1840s. This suggests that he was probably younger than the others, likely born in Naples after 1820. Achille is referenced in several Southern Italian travel, art and business directories/publications from 1855 to 1873, during which time, his studio was located at 57 Riviera di Chiaia in Naples. It does not appear that he achieved the recognition and notoriety of his father and broth
