Biography Adrien Demont
Adrien originally started his formal education studying law but then switched to painting, especially landscapes. He began studying with Emile Breton when he was a teenager. In 1871 he met and began studying with Corot and later moved to Paris where he worked in the studio of Joseph Blanco. Adrien married Virginie Demont-Breton (1859-1935) in 1880. The newlyweds moved to Montgeron (suburb of Paris) and designed a home with two ateliers, one for his wife and one for himself. In 1881 they discovered the North coast fishing village of Wissant and built a Neo Egyptian villa summer home called "Typhonium" in 1891.
