Biography Antonin Hudecek
Antonin Hudecek was born in 1872, in Loucke u Budyne, Czechoslovakia. Antonin studied at the Prague Academy in the studio of genre painting run by Maximilian Pirner.
Antonin was interested in the motif of forest interiors, especially in the 1900's. He focused on the rhythm and harmony of spruce trees, and the atmosphere of the silent forest. While these paintings are done in impressionistic style, they are less ornate. Antonin's short brushstrokes and gloomy shades of grey, dark green and brown, resemble Prucha's espressionism.
Regarded as one of the most significant Czech landscape artists of the 19th century, Antonin Hudecek died in 1941, in Castolovice, Czechoslovakia.
