Biography Hermann Junker
A native of Frankfurt am Main, Hermann Junker, a son of the painter Hermann Junker I (1838-1899), studied at the Städel Institute in Frankfurt with H. Hasselhorst and then in Karlsruhe with H. Baisch. From 1908, he was resident in Berlin.
Junker repeatedly portrayed the German Crown Prince. He mainly created paintings of horses and equestrian portraits, particularly in military circles and the circles of Berlin racings, where he acquired a high reputation. (cko)
