Biography August Ludecke-Cleve
August Lüdecke-Cleve initially studied at the Art Academy in Dusseldorf under Hugo Crola and then at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich under Franz Roubaud and Heinrich von Zügel. He graduated from his master class with a silver medal.
From 1901 onwards, he had his studio in Munich and repeatedly traveled to the Lower Rhine, the Chiemsee and the Salzkammergut. Lüdecke-Cleve was a member of the artist group Laetitia in Dusseldorf, Munich Artists' Association and the Munich Artists' Society Allotria.
He first showed his works in Dusseldorf and from 1908 onwards he regularly exhibited in the Glaspalast in Munich. In 1943 his studio in Munich was destroyed. He then settled in the Allgäu.
