Biography Eugène McSwiney
Eugene Joseph MacSwiney studied drawing and painting at the Cork School of Art and was honored early on with a series of awards for his figurative skills. For a short period he attended the Royal College of Art in London.
In 1890, MacSwiney began showing his works at the Royal Hibernian Academy and exhibited several works at the Royal Academy. In addition to working as a landscape painter, he also taught in various schools around the county.
Eugene MacSwiney is primarily known for his pastoral landscape of the English countryside.
