Rudolf Möller (1881-1967)
The artist was born on the 12th of February, 1881 in Thuringia and studied as pupil of Lovis Corinth at the Royal Art School in Berlin from 1905-07. From 1916 onwards Möller was art teacher at a grammar school in Berlin, later he became senior teacher for painting and art literature. From 1919-31 he was member of the November Group and in the course of this took part in numerous exhibitions. During National Socialism his paintings were considered as ‘entartete Kunst’ (degenerated art) and in 1943 he was released from teaching. In 1945 he moved to Lörrach, where he spent the rest of his life. Möller’s works can be seen today for example at the Kunsthalle Würth in Schwäbisch Hall.
