Augusto Moriani, 19th and 20th centuries, was a Neapolitan artist who specialized in watercolor genre portraits of "tipi napolitani", or workaday people around the Bay of Naples. Much of his life he lived in Sorrento, although it is not known if he was born or died there.
One Italian source refers to Moriani as a Sorrentine watercolorist. He was not the first in Italy to produce a body of such portraits, but almost certainly the first in Naples, along with perhaps Edoardo Forlenza.
