Biography Hanna Rudzka-Cybisowa
Hanna Rudzka-Cybisowa, born Rudzda, was born in the Polish town Mlawa in 1897. In 1917 she began her training at the Warsaw School of Arts and studied from 1921 at the Academy of Arts in Krakow under Ignacy Pienkowski and Józef Pankiewicz. With the latter and 10 other students she founded the artist group called 'Parisian Committee' in 1923.
Influenced by the French Post-Impressionism, the picturesque style and use of color should stand in the foreground. The group spent some time in Paris. After the war, Hanna Rudzka-Cybisowa became the first female professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, where she taught until 1967. She was also represented in numerous national and international exhibitions.
