Alcide Segoni (1847 Florence - 1894)
Alcide Segoni was an Italian painter. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts with Professor Antonio Ciseri. His favorite subjects were historical and genre scenes and landscapes. One of his most famous works is the painting 'Corradino di Svevia in Carcere' (Conradin of Hohenstaufen in Prison) in the Palazzo Pitti in Florence. In 1877, he took part in the national art exhibition in Venice, and in 1881in Milan. In 1889, he received a commission for the battle of Austerlitz, which was much praised by the Florentine art critics.
