Andre Szenes Dugo (1895 - 1957)
Andre Szenes Dugo was born Andras Szenes in Szolnok, Hungary and studied architecture at the College of Technology in Budapest. He served in the Hungarian Army during World War One and received his degree after the war. Thereafter he studied painting with Adolf Fenyes (1867-1945) in Budapest and at the Art Colony of Szolnok.
After his first exhibition in 1924, he moved to Munich where he also began exhibiting while furthering his studies and becoming familiar with works of the Expressionists. During this time he kept exhibiting in Budapest. In 1927 he was a recipient of the KUT* Prize.
