Biography   Stefan Dakon


Stefan (Stephan) Dakon was born in 1904. After attending a school of sculpture, and training at the art foundry in Vienna, Stefan worked at the Friedrich Goldscheider company also in Vienna. Since 1924, he produced numerous designs which they manufactured. Until the mid-1950's, he was one of their most important and creative designers. Stefan's favorite subjects were dancers, actresses, masks and depictions of children. Stefan Dakon also produced designs for the Vienna ceramics company Keramos, as well as for Goebel/Oeslau and Hertwig/Katzhütte. Today, his works can be found in numerous private collections as well as the Vienna Museum. Stefan Dakon died in 1992, in Austria.
