Henrik Heintz (1896-1955)
He studied at the Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts from 1919 to 1926 with István Réti. Heintz stood out at the very beginning of his career with his ecclesiastical artworks, particularly with his painting Saint Francis Preaches To The Birds.
In 1926 he won the first prize at the National Exhibition of Religious Art, and in 1927 he was granted a state stipend that allowed him to travel to Italy on a study trip. In the meantime, together with seven fellow artists he founded the Szentendre Colony of Artists in 1926, and in 1928 the Society of Szentendre Painters.
