Biography Hans Nowak
Nowak, who was born in Halle on the Saale, has early been interested in painting. Thanks to a painter friend who helped him, he started his education early on and entered an art school. To further perfect his paintings, he moved to Munich where he lived with fellow artists. Nowak’s career began to develop after the end of the Second World War, when his expressive landscape paintings had been exhibited with great success. Nowak mixes all his colors himself so that each painting has a unique color impact. The painter became dubiously famous when he and a friend gave a faked Monet to restoration at a museum in Braunschweig. After observing for a while the fuss the museum people were creating over the painting, Nowak resolved the case. (vsc)
