Biography Alphonse Pecquereau
Alphonse Ernest Pecquereau was born
in Valenciennes. Pecquereau was a pupil of
Gustave Simonau and Jean-Baptiste van Moer. He was also influenced by
Emile Claus, Henry Schaefels, and Charles Verlat.
Around 1880, he became a
member of the Société Royale des Aquarellistes. Regular study trips
took him to Germany and Luxembourg.
His watercolors mainly depict
landscapes and military scenes. Today, works by Pecquereau are on
display in important museum collections, including museums in Brussels
