A watercolor painter of flowers, gardens and still lives, she was born on 2 July 1862, the daughter of Caleb Pressland and his first wife Louisa of Wandsworth, South London. She trained at the Slade School of Art and exhibited between 1892 and 1923 at the Society of Women Artists, the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolors, the London Salon and galleries in Liverpool, Birmingham and Manchester.
In the 1920's after her father's death, she moved to live with her stepmother, her father's third wife, and it is said that during the following years she did not paint or exhibit her work much. After the death of her stepmother, she moved to Sussex in 1927, and again concentrated on her painting.
