Biography Jozsef Breznay
József Breznay (1916-2012) was born in Budapest and started his arts education under Bertalan Karlovszky and István Szonyi. Later he became the auxiliary of Szonyi. Before WW II he obtained the so called Roman scholarship from the famous Roman-Hungarian Academy which was a melting pot and a center of Hungarian young artists.
After WW II the communist regime needed artistic assistance to acknowledge their system. Komló was a typical communist miner city built and developed by the communist party. Breznay was charged with the painting a fresco on the wall of the Common Council.
