Born in Tacoma Washington in 1924 "Dick" spent most of his life in California. Dick worked in watercolors, oils, and pastels. Everything he painted, in any medium, was done first in thumbnail. Seascapes, Victorian Buildings and landscapes were the artist's favorite subjects. Dick had a AB in Graphic Arts from Stanford University with the Leventritt Award for Art. He then moved to LA to get his Bachelor of Professional Arts from the Art Center College of Design. He showed and exhibited mainly in Chico and Paradise and Carmel CA. Serving in the Army in WW 2 Dick met and was a lifelong friend of Artist Sydney Fossum.
