Garth Bland Scott (Born London 1931)
Educated, more or less, at many primary schools and at Hitchen, Chesterfield and Dartford Boys' Grammar Schools. His studies at Bromley School of Art were interrupted by two years National Service. On release from the army, resumed NDD course at Bromley, but also began attending weekly evening class at the Borough Polytechnic under David Bomberg, along with Dennis Creffield (who had also left Bromley, dissatisfied with the tuition), Roy Oxlade, and Anthony Hatwell. Scott and Oxlade were offered the same ultimatum by the principal and vice-principal at Bromley: "Choose between:
