Dorothy White was born in North Bennington, Vermont 1914-2002. She attended Bennington College where she majored in art. Later she studied art in New York City.
She was quite accomplished in portraits and still life oil on canvas and watercolor. She had displayed her work in galleries in NY and even had a one woman show. She was friends with and studied with Frank Osborn when they both lived in Southern Vermont.
When her art started to become noticed, she pulled back and sold very few pieces. She became somewhat reclusive, still painting but would not often sell her work. Frequently she would sign her watercolors on the matt rather than the art. Later, she signed "D. T
