Biography   Ernest Schwiebert


Ernest Schwiebert's first public recognition came with his 1955 book Matching the Hatch. Penning the comprehensive work, as well as illustrating the color plates, the book's title and descriptions would become commonplace within circles of fly tiers.

Attending the University of Ohio, Schwiebert received his bachelor's as well as a master's degree in fine art (1960).  Further educating his studies, the designer received his doctorate from Princeton University in 1966.

Honing his skills of illustrating detail through his profession as an architect, Schwiebert lent his talents to illustrate his 1970 book Salmon of the World. The book proved to be a success with delicate drawings as well a portfolio of thirty color plates.Displaying 750 of 1190 characters.
