Biography E. Horlacher
Born near Parker, Kansas and died in Topeka, Kansas in 1964. E. Ben
Horlacher was a sculptor. He dropped out of school after the 8th
grade. He served in the army, 1920-23, and then moved to Topeka
He studied art in adult-education classes at Washburn College, Topeka,
1928-31. He studied with Lester T. Hull. He became a bus driver
by occupation and a sculptor by choice.
He quit bus driving in 1942. He organized and directed ceramics
and sculpture classes at Veterans Hospital, and was a part-time
instructor at Huntoon-Hull Art Studio, 1933-37, and taught night
classes at Topeka School of Art.
