Born Lawrence, Kansas, August 16, 1874 and died February 22, 1956, Hilda Lofgren was an artist in Lawrence.
Elfriede Rowe writes: "Miss Hilda Lofgren started her beauty shop in her home in the 700 block on Kentucky Street. Hilda was a tall, blonde, angular woman, who always carried an umbrella when she walked to town, whether rain or shine, winter or summer."
Her artwork was displayed when the renovated Lawrence Public Library reopened in Nov. 1937.
