Zella Mae Wunderlich Dickinson (1895-1982), painter and art teacher, was born in Nebraska on March 12, 1895. She painted in oils, watercolors, acrylics, pen and ink, and woodcuts. Dickinson received her art training at Nebraska State University, the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and at the Otis Art Institute in Los Angeles, California.
Zella was a member of the California Watercolor Society, Women Painters of the West, the San Diego Artists Guild, the San Diego Watercolor Society, the San Diego Art Institute. She was a life member of the Laguna Beach Art Association. Her works were exhibited widely in group, and one man shows.
