Born in Lee, Oneida County, NY on Aug. 3, 1820. Young was admitted to the bar in 1846. Joining the Gold Rush, he arrived in California in 1849 and established a law practice in Calaveras County. Following service in the Civil War, he moved to Arizona where he remained until his demise in Mohave County in 1877.
