Born in Illinois in 1852. Evans studied in NYC at the NAD and ASL, and in Paris with Laurens, Bouvet, Couture, and Constant. By the 1880s she was a resident of San Francisco and active in the local art scene. Following the earthquake of 1906, she lived in Los Angeles for three years before moving to Mexico. During 1926-31 she lived in Santa Barbara. Her rare works include landscapes, genre, portraits, and marines. Exh: SFAA, 1885-89; Fine Arts League (LA), 1909.
