Anderson L. Jenkins was born in Indiana in 1861. Jenkins studied at the Mark Hopkins Art Institute in 1900-01. By 1920 he was a hotel manager in San Francisco and by 1930 he was in Los Angeles. He died there in 1955.
His rare watercolors appear to have been influenced by Lorenzo P. Latimer.
