William E. Fletcher was born in Massachusetts in 1832. By 1866 Fletcher had settled in San Francisco. He made painting forays into northern California before his death in San Francisco in 1889. A highly accomplished landscape painter, his works are rare.
Exhibited: San Francisco Art Ass'n, 1875-76; Mechanics' Institute (SF), 1868, 1874-76.
