Mary Ellen ("Nell") Rawdon

Mary Ellen ("Nell") Rawdon was active/lived in California.  Mary Rawdon is known for teaching, watercolor painting, landscape, floral and still life.

Biography   Mary Ellen ("Nell") Rawdon

Born in Sierraville, CA on Feb. 20, 1879.  "Nell" Rawdon studied with Mlle. Vulliemin in Switzerland in 1903.  She received a B.A. degree from Stanford University in 1905 and graduated from the CCAC
in 1909.  She taught for two years at Ukiah High School and at the CCAC during 1921-22. A spinster, Rawdon spent her last 14 years in San Francisco; she died there of pneumonia on May 26, 1928.  Her work includes landscapes, florals and still lifes. 

Exh:  Calif. State Fair, 1892; San Francisco Art Association, 1917-23; Hotel Oakland, 1924.
