Born in Buffalo, NY on Dec. 22, 1862. Helen was the daughter-in-law of artist Jacques J. Rey. During the 1890s she was a resident of San Francisco and active in the local art scene. She studied at the local School of Design where she was awarded the Avery gold medal for one of her paintings. After the 1906 disaster, she moved across the Golden Gate to Belvedere where she remained until her death on Jan. 27, 1920.
