Biography   Marie-Louise Lathrop Hardy

Born in Grass Valley, CA on July 5, 1867.  Marie was the great-granddaughter of  the court painter to Queen Victoria, James, Duke of Guilford. 

As the wife of Tracy Hardy, she was a resident of Berkeley in the 1920s.

 She died there of pneumonia on Jan. 5, 1929. 

A painter of animals, her signature was "Guild" (her mother's name). 

Claremont Hotel (Berkeley), 1926 (solo); Ambassador Hotel (LA), 1926 (solo).
