Born in NYC on Dec. 26, 1897. Plumb first studied painting with his father. He later studied in Paris at Académie Julian under Laurens, Lhote, and Charles Blanc, and in Florence at Belli Arti under Baccio Bacci. While living in Los Angeles in the 1930s, he was a pupil of Wm Paxton and active in the Laguna Beach art scene. He died in Los Angeles on Nov. 3, 1984.
