Biography Alberto De la Vega
He studied at La Esmeralda, his teachers were Juan Cruz, Francisco Zúñiga and Luis Ortiz Monasterio. In 1950 he obtained a scholarship to expand his knowledge in the Workshop of Plastic Integration. From 1954 he began his teaching duties at La Esmeralda. He carried out public works in the states of Morelos and Michoacán.
He was always deeply interested in the sculptural work of Lipchitz, Brancusi, and Moore; of the latter received great influence, but it was the pre-Hispanic art that manifested most in his work.
