Born in Spanaway, WA on May 15, 1916. Violette and husband Wm Dawson settled on the Monterey Peninsula in 1946. She studied there with George Degroat and at the Community College. Working in oil and acrylic, she produced landscapes, floral still lifes, and scenes of the Monterey Peninsula. She died in Carmel on Aug. 6, 2003.
