Doris Eugenie Wright was born in California on November 6, 1886. While a resident of San Francisco in 1903-04, Wright studied at the Mark Hopkins Art Institute. During 1932-40 she worked in San Francisco as a decorator in a department store. During the early 1930s she was briefly married to a man named Day; however, the marriage ended in divorce. She died there on June 2, 1983.
