Biography Sam Rand
Sam Lewis Rand taught art in New York's Harlem and painted in casein and watercolor. He has been involved in the art scene in all it's facets. He was a member of the Monument Fine Arts and Archives Section of Supreme Headquarters US Army involved in the preservation and collection of looted art collections during World War II.
Founder and proprietor of the "Art Place", his gallery showed paintings by nationally known artists resident in the Berkshires. Rand also introduced the first showings of Black Tribal Arts, being a predominant collector of same.
