Biography   Sara Gamble

Mrs. Gamble, aunt of artist John Marshall Gamble, ran Quincy Seminary in Santa Cruz from 1883 to 1889 and later lived in San Francisco.

An ad for her Quincy Seminary announces “Unusual advantages are also offered for acquiring proficiency in Pencil and Crayon Drawing, Pastel, Water Colors, and Oil Painting” and it appeared in Southern Pacific Railway, Santa Cruz & Monterey Illustrated Handbook, SF: 1880, page number not visible.
