Maurice Case Gardner was born in Indiana on May 5, 1907. Gardner taught at Herron Art School in Indianapolis prior to arriving in southern California in the 1930s.
While in Los Angeles, he taught fashion design at Woodbury College into the 1940s. He died in San Francisco on September 9, 1983.
