Born in San Francisco, CA on Dec. 28, 1879. Grant (né Goldstein) was a lifelong resident of his native city. A photoengraver, he engraved the plate of the one-dollar bill for the U.S. Treasury. In his leisure he painted landscapes and figure studies. He died on April 1, 1963.
