Yves Parent (1941-)
Born in Normandy, France in 1941, sailing and painting are his life long passions. Yves Parent is a graduate of Paris University and the Institute d'Etudes Politiques. Essentially a self-taught artist, he carries his art materials with him to most places he goes, and painted a watercolor of Cape Horn on location, while crewing aboard Kriter IX, the French entry in round the world races in 1981 and 1982. He has painted and exhibited coastal scenes in France, England, Bermuda, St. Barth and in the Virgin Islands, as well as in the United States. He also had several solo shows in France.
