Mercy P. Bausman was born in Pennsylvania in 1831. Mercy was the wife of Jacob Bausman and a resident of Des Moines, IA in 1870. By 1880 she was living in Washington, DC, and by 1910 she was an inmate at the King's Daughters Home for Incurables in Oakland, CA. She died there on Jan. 27, 1916. Her work includes still lifes of fruit.
