Harry Marshall was born in California on June 6, 1877. Marshall painted scenery for theaters in San Francisco in 1900-01. After the earthquake in 1906, he moved to San Jose and by 1930 he had settled in Los Angeles.
He died there on Jan. 30, 1947.
