Following is the obituary of James Scott from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, November 2, 2015

Scott, James Arthur of Cottonwood, Arizona passed away peacefully at Mingus Manor on October 16, 2015, at the age of 84. He was born April 1, 1931 in Southgate, California to Arthur William Scott and Jemmie Arlene Godwin Scott. He was raised on a farm in Texas. Jim's love of art began as early as elementary school and grew throughout his life. He took every art class available in school.

After graduation, he returned to California where he earned his four year degree in two years. Scott's plan was to go to Chicago to pursue his painting career, however, on the way a stop in St. Louis, Missouri changed his mind.
